Cambodia Thearny, 29, was born in a refugee camp near the Cambodia/Thailand border. She only studied through the ninth grade because her family was too poor for her to continue her studies. She began working as a seamstress and eventually got a job working as an artisan. Thearny learned how to make recycled bomb shell jewelry five years ago.
Thearny is inspired to make jewelry to make her family’s life better. She is thankful to have enough income for her kids to go to school. She is proud of her son and daughter and that she is able to sell her jewelry to buyers in the United States.
